Mr. Franck Fougere

Managing Partner

After six years of intellectual property practice in Thailand, Franck founded Ananda IP in 2011 with the goal of creating Thailand’s best boutique IP firm. Recognized as one of Thailand’s leading IP specialists, Franck’s practice areas include trademark and patent prosecution, trademark strategy, copyright and patent litigation, anti-counterfeit strategy, and IP contracts.

In addition to servicing several high-profile, multinational corporations from Europe, China, Japan, the USA, India, UAE and Southeast Asia, Franck is also a frequent speaker on cutting-edge IP issues at professional symposiums and conferences. A recognized expert, Franck is a regular lecturer in patent, trademark, and design law for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and a teacher/reviewer of WIPO’s Distance Learning program (DL302, DL450, DL 201, Turin Master of Intellectual Property, Ankara Master and Yaoundé Master). He is an advisor to the European Union (ECAP & EU/ASEAN IPR Helpdesk), to the Swiss Government (ISIP I and ISIP II), and to the French government on IP issues. Franck has authored numerous expert studies and articles, including two IP guides for Thailand published in 2011 and 2013. Franck is also a former President of the Franco Thai Chamber of Commerce (2009-2011), and an active member of APAA Emerging IP Rights Committee. In 2013, Franck Fougere received the ILO Client Choice award for best patent practitioner in Thailand. Legal 500 and Asia Law has recognized him as a Leading Lawyer since 2004. In 2015, Franck was appointed as Foreign Trade Advisor (Conseiller du Commerce Exterieur de la France) by the French government. In 2019, Franck was appointed Chairman of EABC Working Group on Intellectual Property.

Franck graduated from Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Strasbourg) in France and College of Europe (Bruges) in Belgium and trained at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. He trained at an international law firm in Brussels before moving to Thailand in 2002. Franck is fluent in French, German, and English, and intermediate in Russian and Thai.

Mr. Kritchakorn Nimwenai

Head of Trademark Department & Patent Agent

At Ananda IP, Kritchakorn manages the overall operational responsibilities as well as the activities of trademark department and consistently maintains the professional and quality service of attorneys to clients. He has comprehensive knowledge of and extensive experience in intellectual property including trademark, patent, copyright and domain name. Kritchakorn advises on strategies and courses of actions for both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property related matters. During his career, he has handled, prosecuted and completed the prescribed procedures for registration of over thousands of local and international trademark and patent applications.

Kritchakorn received LL.M. (Master of Laws) from University of California, Berkeley and earned Law and Technology Certificate of Specialization (intellectual property law, privacy law, and other technology-related areas of law). Prior to that, he acquired the highest admission score to Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University, where he majored in business law and graduated with LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) (honors).

Kritchakorn is a qualified attorney in Thailand. He possesses Attorney-at-Law License issued by the Lawyers Council of Thailand and Patent Agent License issued by Thai Department of Intellectual Property (DIP). He is also a registered Notarial Services Attorney. Kritchakorn is proficient in English and intermediate in German.

Mr. Patthawarat Jungjinjaroen

Patent Agent- Senior Patent Administrator

Patthawarat is a Thai registered patent agent since 2004 and has practiced intellectual property for over 20 years. An expert in handling intellectual property applications, he is well versed in the procedures of the Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand. Patthawarat’s duties include liaising with our international partners to ensure smooth prosecution of international IP cases, in particular PCT national phase patent applications.

Patthawarat also supervises the overall docketing of Ananda IP patent cases and manages our patent department administrators’ team.

Patthawarat graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Law and a Master Degree of in Human Resources Development from Ramkhamhaeng University. He speaks Thai and English.

Mr. Nuttakorn Sorakun

Senior IP Litigator

Nuttakorn is a partner of our associate corporate partner firm Orbis and a senior litigator ranked among Thailand’s top patent and IP litigators. A graduate of Assumption University, where he obtained a LLB (2006), Nuttakorn advises Thai and foreign clients in Intellectual property law, in particular patent litigation). In 2019, Nuttakorn headed Ananda IP litigation team in one of Thailand’ largest patent litigation case (Nitto Denko vs. Hutchinson) resulting in Ananda Intellectual Property successfully invalidating three patents of the plaintiff in what is considered one of Thailand landmark case. Nuttakorn has also an extensive expertise in litigation and dispute resolution related to Corporate, Labor, Immigration, Cyber Crime and Commercial Law.

He is a member of the Law Society of Thailand since 2008 as well as a Notarial Services Attorney since 2009. Nuttakorn has also completed the Barrister-at-Law requirements of the institute of Legal Education, Thai Bar Association. Nuttakorn speaks Thai and English.

Dr. Monnat Theerachat

Manager and Senior Patent Agent (Life Sciences)

Dr. Monnat Theerachat

Dr. Monnat is one of the Manager of our Patent Department in charge of Life Sciences. She is a senior, licensed Patent Agent. Dr. Monnat has a certificate in “Advance in Intellectual Property Law” from Institute of Legal Education of the Thai Bar and IP-UP Program certificate from Department of Intellectual Property-Thailand Research Fund.

Prior to joining Ananda Intellectual Property, Dr. Monnat gained much experience on IP matters in private companies and universities.  With over 15 years’ scientific research experience, her areas of expertise include molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology and enzymology. She has authoured 8 scientific publications in ISI/SCOPUS database.

Dr. Monnat is also a speaker on topics related to the microbe, molecular genetics, biochemical genetics, food safety, and biofuel. Her permits include an animal use license from Institute of Animal for Scientific Purposes Development, a water pollution controller certificate from Thailand Environment Institute, and a Biosafety Guidelines for Modern Biotechnology certificate from BIOTEC-Chulalongkorn University. She received an outstanding young scientist oral presentation award in “The 1st International Conference on Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biorefinery, and Pollution Prevention”.

Dr. Monnat obtained her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Chulalongkorn University. She received funding from the Thailand Research Fund (Royal Golden Jubilee Ph.D. Program), French Embassy in Thailand, and INSA-Toulouse, France to conduct two years of her Ph.D. thesis in France. She obtained her Bachelor Degree of Science from Chulalongkorn University. Dr. Monnat is fluent in Thai, English, and French.

He is a Thai registered patent agent since 2004 and has practiced intellectual property for over 20 years. An expert in handling intellectual property applications, he is well versed in the procedures of the Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand. Patthawarat’s duties include liaising with our international partners to ensure smooth prosecution of international IP cases, in particular PCT national phase patent applications.

Patthawarat also supervises the overall docketing of Ananda IP patent cases and manages our patent department administrators’ team.

Ms. Woralux Teansawad

Office Manager & Accountant

 

Woralux joined Ananda IP in 2014 in the position of Office Manager & Accountant. . She is responsible for human resources, accounting and overall management of communication between the firm’s departments and attorneys.

Her experience includes 12 years’ work at a top IP investigation firm in Bangkok. She is experienced in assisting lawyers, investigators, and raid teams, on IP matters. Her duties include preparation of police and court documents for IP infringement cases. Woralux graduated a Master Degree in Communication Arts from Bangkok University in 2003. She speaks Thai and English.

Ms. Plaifon Pornpunyalert

IP Consultant, Patent Attorney

Plaifon joined Ananda Intellectual Property patent department in 2018 as an IP consultant. She is responsible for preparing and filing domestic and international patent applications, conducting patent searches, advising clients on patent enforcement strategies and any other patent related matters.

 

Prior to joining Ananda Intellectual Property, Plaifon’s experience included working in various fields of law. In 2016, she volunteered in a Private Client Department at Legacare (UK) Ltd., and in 2017, she worked in Litigation Support at the Personal Support Unit in the UK.

 

Plaifon graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Law degree (honors), receiving a first-class degree in Intellectual Property Law. She has also completed the Legal Practice Course with a commendation at the University of Law in Leeds.

 

Ms. Rujapa Prakongsri

Senior Trademark Attorney /Trademark Agent / Patent Attorney

 

 

 

Rujapa is a Thai trademark attorney with sound experience in trademark prosecution and copyright protection. She handles both domestic and international trademark applications of our clients. Her responsibility includes trademark availability searches, preparing appeals and responses to objections from Thai trademark office and oppositions from third parties. Rujapa is also handling invention and design patent matters for both Thai and international clients. She is experienced in copyright recordation, trademark contracts, online takedowns and litigation matters that includes the trademark appeal before the Thai Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court. Rujapa manages the Korean desk at Ananda Intellectual with a specific focus on Korean copyright and trademark owners protection and enforcement work in Thailand.

Prior to joining Ananda Intellectual Property in 2017, Rujapa graduated from Thammasat University and worked with another intellectual property law firm in Thailand. Rujapa is a qualified lawyer and a Notarial Services Attorney with an Attorney-at-Law License issued by the Lawyers Council of Thailand. Ms. Phanootchanat Silaparsit

Paralegal/Patent Administrator

 

Phanootchanat is responsible for liaising with the Thai Department of Intellectual Property and assisting patent and trademark attorneys on domestic prosecutions. Her duties include docketing files, preparing IP forms, and completing registration processes of IP matters at the DIP. Phanootchanat received a Marketing Diploma from the Business Administration Vocational College in Thailand.

 

Ms. Suppatra Tanjarupan

Administrative Assistant /Accountant

 

 

Suppatra assists the Office Manager and attorneys in administrative and accountant sections. Her duties include files and accounts maintenance, and support to lawyers and office operations. Prior to joining AIP, Suppatra was part of an accountant and IT team for a software company in Thailand. Suppatra graduated from Faculty of Science, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. She speaks Thai and English.

 

 

Ms. Parawee Grorara

Paralegal/ Patent Administrator

 

Parawee joined Ananda IP in early 2020 as an IP Paralegal. She is responsible for assisting Patent Attorneys with preparing and filing domestic and international patent applications, conducting patent searches, preparing reports and updating clients on patent status and any other patent related matters.

 

Prior to joining Ananda IP, Parawee has worked in a number of top Intellectual Property Law firms in Thailand as a Patent Administrator covering both Patent and Trademark related matters.

 

She has had over 2 years of experience working in Intellectual Property field of law.

 

Parawee graduated from Mahidol University International College with a Bachelor of International Business degree covering Thai Business Law. She is fluent in Thai, English and Hindi and Penjabi.

 

Ms. Prasita Monkhai

Trademark Administrator

Prasita assists Trademark Attorney in all administrative tasks relating to IP litigation cases. Prior to joining our AIP, she worked as an IP administrator and accountant. Prasita graduated from Silpakorn University where she earned a Bachelor degree from Faculty of Arts (Korean language). She speaks Thai and English, and is proficient in Korean.
